Did you know it was once believed that disease was thought to be the sole cause of disability and the decline of physical function in older adults? BUT, now data suggests that inactivity and a lack of proper exercise have comparable effects on the disabling process. All older adults, with or without chronic disease, will benefit from an increase in physical activity and experience a higher level of functional mobility in later years, according to the American College of Sports Medicine. Physical decline is modifiable through proper assessment and activity intervention.


"Bryan has been my personal trainer since we returned to Georgia from Ohio. I have worked with excellent trainers for over ten years prior to finding Bryan and would certainly add Bryan to the "excellent" category. For each half hour session, twice a week that I meet with Bryan, the time is quickly filled with warm-ups, a variety of exercises that improve strength, create greater flexibility, increase cardio functions and include stretches to complete the workout. I am always surprised at how quickly half an hour passes. Bryan provides a good variety of exercises at a pace that feels unhurried, yet is a terrific workout. He gives excellent demonstrations of each exercise and is always encouraging! I am amazed at how great I feel with improved strength and flexibility that seemed easy to attain with Bryan's guidance. I am also impressed how Bryan is prepared for each session with an outline of exercises to be completed. This information is kept as a log to gradually increase strength and to improve weaker areas. He continually watches for proper form and is alert to avoid any strain. Bryan's easy manner and good sense of humor are real motivators for me. Chronic Conditions

The presence of chronic conditions does not prevent one from participating in daily exercise to prevent physical impairment. Older adults with chronic conditions can still enhance their health and fitness in order to maintain their independence! Together we can improve your physical functin and health, and possibly alleviate the symptoms of chronic conditions including:

  • Cardiovascular Disorders (coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, hypertension, stroke)
  • Respiratory Problems (asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, COPD)
  • Musculoskeletal Disorders (arthritis and low-back pain)

Sports Conditioning

My sports conditioning programs are geared towards athletes of all levels: the young athlete who wants to get faster and stronger before the next season, a first responder who needs to improve endurance, military personnel, or simply someone who wants to complete their first 5K. I lead my athletes through a more functional, movement based program that links their body from toe to fingertip so that they can get stronger, faster, and more powerful on the playing field. My focus for athletes is enhanced movement and increased performance!

My Sports Background

Throughout my life I have participated in organized sports: baseball, basketball, football, cross country, and boxing. My current fitness hobbies include competing in triathlons, marathons, and ultra-marathons, and I enjoy doing CrossFit and other high-intensity workouts. I am a lifelong fitness enthusiast and athlete. The athlete is the most complex machine in the world! Here are a few that I have trained:
